Name: Philip David Campbell
Residence: Bronx, New York, but born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Profession: I’m currently in a medical scientist training program, working towards both my M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. Not entirely sure what I want to do afterwards, but probably something neuroscience related, either in research or in a medical setting.
What are your favorite hobbies or pastimes? Why do you enjoy them? I’m born and raised Canadian, so I obviously love hockey. I play in a recreational league and watch as many Ottawa Senators (NHL) games as I can. Go Sens!
When did you first hear about the town of Phil Campbell, Alabama? I don’t remember how old I was but fairly young, probably around 10-13. A family friend, also a Phil Campbell, told my family that he had visited the town of Phil Campbell, Alabama and gave us a picture of him with the ‘Phil Campbell City Limit’ sign.
Were you able to attend the Phil Campbell Hoedown of June 2011? Unfortunately I was not.
You are a Phil Campbell. What do you think of that name? I really like the name Phil. I don’t like the full form Philip as much. I don’t know what it is, but the sound of anyone saying it to me just rubs me the wrong way…
Tell us a little about yourself, as many words as you would like. Well I’m the youngest of three boys, have gone on a road trip from Ottawa, Canada to San Diego and back, and love hockey. What more do you need to know?
