During the 2011 Phil Campbell Hoedown, Stephen Gyllenhaal was kind enough to allow Brooklyn Phil and Andrew Reed to organize a very special screening of his film Grassroots – another way to raise more money for the town.
It was the first time ever that the town of Phil Campbell hosted a real Hollywood film screening, and the film was about a Phil Campbell! The movie is an in an adaptation of Brooklyn Phil’s first book and starred Jason Biggs as Brooklyn Phil. Check out the clip below of Stephen Gyllenaal announcing the screening on YouTube.
When we finally release I’m with Phil and you can watch our movie in full, be on the lookout for cameos from this Hollywood director. And remember: People helping people. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from, it’s what we do.
