Name: Phillip Joseph Campbell
Residence: Bendigo, Victoria Australia
Profession: I have had a varied career so far. I spent my early working days in commercial radio in Victoria and North Queensland. I moved to sales in the food industry until 2007 when I started my own food distribution business. I wrapped that up last year and now am driving a truck for an online company. My next goal is to study in the field of IT (code) .
What are your favorite hobbies or pastimes? Why do you enjoy them? I volunteer for community radio Phoenix FM in the area of production and IT. I also like keeping fit physically and mentally.
When did you first hear about the town of Phil Campbell, Alabama? My sister saw it on a GPS when she was travelling across America. Then recently Brooklyn Phil contacted me regarding the hoedown.
Were you able to attend the Phil Campbell Hoedown of June 2011? No unfortunately :( I did [tore] a ligament in my knee and could not travel. I did help with media here in Australia and the recording of interviews online where I could. I have a goal to go to the 2014 Hoedown!
You are a Phil Campbell. What do you think of that name? The Campbell part, not much until I was doing my family tree. I always wondered where the Campbell part came from. I haven’t seen my father in over 20 years. My grandfather Thomas Joseph was born on Prince Edward Island, Canada. The Campbell part is now important to me as I want to learn his story and how he came to be in Australia. The Phil Campbell part – I love it there are some really cool and creative Phil Campbells out there and I cant wait to meet them one day!
